In recognition of her background in journalism and strategic communication, we offer a lede: Nicole Hill, MarketPlace’s Executive Director of Strategy, assists clients in growing their businesses and brands by identifying opportunities, then developing and implementing goal-driven strategies.
Nicole began with MarketPlace in a hybrid role, serving as both strategist and writer for clients across our focus industries. For one of them, a food ingredient and technology brand, she led the building of awareness and equity to prime it for acquisition by a multinational leader in the space. For a traditional B2B food ingredient company, she led positioning that helped gain them entry into the supplement market, resulting in its eventual acquisition.
We could fill this space with mini case studies, all of them testament to Nicole’s strategic thinking, disciplined management, and creative output. These qualities are why she now serves as our Group Strategy Director, leading our strategy team and collaborating with our creative team in helping our partners define their brands, build equity, increase distribution, etc.
Nicole’s work has been recognized in the industries we serve but also in the industry we work in, in the form of several ADDYs, notably for her work helping a CPG pet company with the most successful single-SKU launch in its history. Which is fitting given Nicole’s lifelong love for animals, including (but not limited to) dogs, cats, horses, fish, geckos, birds, hamsters, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and one snake. We have no doubt that even as she cared for them, she was figuring out a way to translate those experiences into ways to better serve future pet industry partners.
