Our Group Creative Director Crystal has been with MarketPlace almost from the beginning. And though she’s our longest-tenured creative, and though she’s won industry awards for web design, packaging, and even magazine design, and though she’s arguably at the forefront of the health and wellness design movement, and though she’s basically mastered the art of pet photography, if you were to ask her, she’d tell you that she’s only just begun.
Our partners, however, would tell a more open and shut story. Prairie Farms would tell you that she decisively reimagined their dairy brand for the coming decade. FURminator would tell you that she visually repositioned their beloved brand, helping set them up to close acquisition at 3x valuation. Reunion would show you how she translated their organic, grass-fed meat brand into a visual identity that works simply and beautifully at shelf. True Residential would tell you that she’s in no small way responsible for helping move them from a sturdy refrigerator brand to one of the most revered, design-forward, high-end appliance brands on the market.
It’s hard to capture or describe her value to MarketPlace and our partners, so perhaps it’s better to list a few of the contributing factors to her success:
She combined her education background in graphic communications and business organization & management with her background in retail health (her parents own a health food store), becoming a successful member of both the Garden of Life and Gaia Herbs teams.
Her experience in the dog world runs deep, as she has owned, showed, raced, and photographed dogs for almost two decades.
She has long been immersed in the health & wellness space: functional medicine, paleo/AIP, crossfit/functional movement, regenerative ranching, sustainable agriculture, organic gardening, podcasting, etc.
Outside of MarketPlace, Crystal has trained in and successfully executed several documentary photography projects.
So it’s not enough to say merely that she’s a Group Creative Director, that she excels in brand identity and development, packaging design, UI/UX design, and photography/videography. More than all of those very important, well-defined contributions, Crystal is part of the fabric of MarketPlace, her drive and intuition and dedication not only elevating our partners’ brands but also, and more importantly, inspiring our team members to reach beyond, believe more deeply, and create with joy.
