The Digital Strategist will own strategy development, budgeting, and reporting for all digital media projects in collaboration with the broader MarketPlace team. As a member of our Media Team, the Digital Strategist will participate in new business pitches to MarketPlace’s B2B and B2C clients as a subject matter expert. This role is a prime opportunity to design creative digital programs that align digital strategies with overarching brand strategies. You must be able to deliver strategic thinking and jump in to assist with executing the programs. Primary Job Functions

  • Develop digital strategies that encompass the full user journey, inclusive of awareness, engagement, lead generation, cultivation, and conversion activities
  • Collaborate with the media director, brand strategists, creative directors, writers, developers, and other team members to understand how to infuse digital products into client brand strategies
  • Participate in new business calls and pitch digital projects to existing and potential clients
  • Establish and track against key performance indicators, maintaining accountability for campaigns from expectation-setting to end-of-campaign reporting
  • Estimate and manage campaign budgets necessary to achieve client goals
  • Define the types and quantities of creative assets needed for successful digital program execution
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing optimization of digital campaigns and content calendars
  • Create and maintain digital dashboards and metrics reporting, and utilize data-driven insights to identify opportunities to achieve goals more effectively
  • Present campaign performance and lead feedback dialogue with clients

Ideal Candidates

  • At least 7 years of experience designing and implementing creative digital media campaigns
    • 3-5 years of that experience at an advertising or media agency strongly preferred
    • Strong client interaction experience (needs assessment, new business pitching, campaign development and auditing, KPI development and reporting, etc.)
    • Experience managing campaign budgets and appropriating ad spend to achieve goals tailored to each client/brand
  • Experience in seeking out innovation and new products or processes for use in developing brand vision, positioning, growth strategy, and presenting that in an inspiring and persuasive way
  • Strong promotional and technical background with a deep understanding of digital advertising and channels, including website and SEO best practices
